Pantry

Ainsty Farm Shop has a good assortment of preserves and chutneys, sauces and other essential pantry items such as flour, cereal, dried fruit and nuts, oils, milk, butter and cream.  This is all complimented with a selection of frozen food, including fruit, vegetables, ready meals and local ice cream.

The preserves come from Raydale Preserves, Stalling Busk near Leyburn and Bracken Hill Fine Foods, Elvington near York.  There is also a small selection from Rosebud Preserves and pickled beetroot, onion, piccalilli etc from The Little Pickle and Spice Co.  Yorkshire honey is also for sale direct from local beekeepers and several varieties are available.  There are delicious fruit cordials, such as elderflower and apple and Glendale Ginger as featured on Dales Diary on Yorkshire & Tyne Tees TV.

Pantry essentials, such as a variety of sugars, flours, seasonings, dried fruits and nuts are on sale in the shop.  There is a good selection of these from Country Products in the nearby village of Tockwith.  This also includes a range of delicious muesli, porridge oats, various brans and beans such as lentils, kidney beans and more.  Rapeseed oil in a range of flavours from Wharfe Valley Farms sits alongside more traditional olive oils and vinegars catering for a wide diversity of tastes.

Other staples are on hand such as milk from JG Bellerby at Killinghall near Harrogate, butter from Birchfield Dairies at Summerbridge, Harrogate and local free range and barn-reared eggs, including goose and duck eggs when in season.  Time saving food is available at the shop such as ready-made sauces and gravies, stock, purees, soups from The Yorkshire Provender, Taylors Classics sticky toffee and chocolate puddings and Wensleydale fruitcakes.

There is a selection of frozen food on sale at Ainsty Farm Shop.  There are frozen fruit and vegetables, sold loose to allow customers to buy however much they need.  Ready meals, including lasagne, steak and kidney pudding, fish pie and gooseberry crumble to name a few, are popular with customers who have limited time but still like a delicious hot meal.  Birchfield Ice Cream and Brymoor Ice Cream can be bought in many flavours, in individual or larger sizes.  A more unusual feature of Ainsty Farm Shop is the choice of frozen gluten free food from The Gluten Free Kitchen at Hawes.

The huge selection of pantry items means that Ainsty Farm Shop can usually accommodate even the most difficult recipe!
